Overview
RiverView, a nonprofit affordable housing provider, partnered with Solvix to implement a community solar program that would provide clean, low-cost energy access to residents across its 200-unit housing complex. The goal was to make solar energy inclusive, accessible, and beneficial for underserved communities.
Execution
Solvix created a shared solar infrastructure designed for high impact and ease of access:
- Centralized Solar Grid Installation – Built a large solar array on adjacent land to serve multiple residential buildings.
- Shared Energy Distribution Model – Enabled equitable energy credits across all 200 units.
- Net Metering Setup – Connected to local utility grid with fair billing and credit system.
- Tenant Education Program – Conducted workshops and provided materials to help residents understand usage and savings.
- Sustainability Reporting Support – Helped the nonprofit report on impact metrics for funding and compliance.
Result
- 30% Average Monthly Utility Bill Reduction for residents
- 200+ Families Benefiting from clean, shared solar energy
- Over 600 Tons of CO₂ Emissions Offset Each Year
- Improved Energy Access in low-income housing
“Solvix helped us turn a vision into reality. Providing clean energy to our residents not only cuts their expenses but empowers our community with sustainable living. Their team was efficient, transparent, and committed to impact from day one.”
